Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral
The Kennedy Space Center is where much of the space program takes place and is the center for much of the world's total space information and technology. You can go and take a tour by bus of the Kennedy Space Center and see then go see the Visitor's Center with all of its attractions and information.
Children's Activities at the Kennedy Space Center
A child that wishes to know about space will enjoy learning everthing about it at the Visitor's Center, on the tour, and at the Apollo/Saturn V Center. At the Apollo/Saturn V Center, they will see an actual rocket that was going to be used, but the flight was canceled. Children will wonder if it is real. Yes it is. And it is very big. It stands at 363 foot tall, or as high as an average 36 story building, if you were wanting a real life relation. There are also two IMAX theaters, a sixty million dollar space shuttle ride, and a huge gift shop with space related Legos and K'nex.
Kennedy Space Center for Adults
Adults will enjoy watching a rocket take off and riding the bus on a tour of the restricted areas of Kennedy Space Center. You will see two launch pads, one of the towing vehicles that tows the space shuttle, and the largest building in the world, the Vehicle Assembly Building. You will also get to see the three and a half mile crushed rock driveway that the space shuttles get pulled down for launches. Of course, you can always have fun in the $60 million dollar space ride as well, no one's going to stop you.
If you have never been to the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, then you should definitely make a plan to go and see one of the rocket launches and experience for yourself what the space program is like. You will have just as much fun as your kids, maybe even more.
