Space Shuttle Launch Viewing

If you want to view the shuttle launch, you will have to go to the NASA's website. This will give you the most up to date information, as well as tell you at which launch site it is at. There are three different launch sites, one in California, one in Virginia, and one in Florida. The Kennedy Space Center is the most common launch site and it is located in Cape Canaveral, Florida. You will probably go there if you want to see a shuttle launch.

Launch Viewing and Pictures

If you go to the Kennedy Space Center, you will be directed to where you need to go either by personnel or by signs. Don't forget your camera! You will be fairly far from the actual launch pad, so you will want a camera that can zoom in quite a ways. This will also help you get a good in-flight picture of the rocket and shuttle. Be sure that if your camera has multiple settings that you have it on the setting that is the best for the viewing conditions. If you have a digital camera, then you could snap off a few quick shots in different modes in order to find the setting that works the best. Then you will have your camera ready for the countdown. Flash will be useless, so turn it off. It will only slow down your picture taking. Be sure to take a lot of pictures to ensure that you have an excellent picture and take many shots of each different sequence. You may find that one of your pictures is a great action shot of the rockets falling off.

If you are going to the Kennedy Space Center, you will want to be sure to check out all of the sights and attractions. There are many things to see, and you can check them all out in one of the other articles on this website.
