Shuttle Launch Schedule

NASA has a list on their website of the space shuttle launches, as well as all of the launches they have planned for the next couple of months. If you are planning a trip to Cape Canaveral to watch a shuttle launch, then keep in mind that the website will be updated frequently with changes in dates and times, so check back often. Also, you will want to check the weather in order to know if it would be worth your while to travel there. If there is unfavorable weather for space launching, then they will delay the launch. It may only be a day or two, so check the long term forecast for Cape Canaveral. If it is bad weather that whole week, the flight may be delayed longer.

NASA's Website

NASA's website has a fantastic website with a lot of good information on what they are doing. They have a Current Mission page that has a list of all of the current missions they are working on, plus what the mission is for. You can see all of the projects that they are working on and have a better understanding of what NASA is really about. They also have a Latest News page that will give you the most recent stories about NASA, their discoveries, and their launches.

Shuttle History

The shuttles have been around since the early 1980s and have flown in more than 100 successful missions. There have only been two disasters, the Challenger disaster and the Columbia disaster. There are still three shuttles that are still in use, the Discovery, the Atlantis, and the Endeavour. These have flown hundreds of millions of miles and have had all safe missions. They have flown in nearly 70 combined missions and have added some of the most important satellites into the atmosphere, including the Hubble Space Telescope. This makes them one of the most important space projects in history.
